We believe in the one true God, who is living and holy, and who alone is the Creator, Sustainer, and Ruler of all things both visible and invisible. We affirm that God exists eternally in three distinct persons – the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. While they remain separate, they are also inseparable, eternally unified in their essence and power.
Jesus Christ
We believe in Jesus Christ, the second person of the Trinity, who is fully divine and fully human. He is the eternal Son of God, who was born of the virgin Mary through the power of the Holy Spirit. Beginning His ministry at the age of 30, He preached repentance and the coming of the Kingdom of Heaven to the multitudes. After living a sinless life in perfect obedience to the Father, He died on the cross as an atonement for our sins, was buried, rose from the dead, and ascended to the right hand of the Father. Through His death, resurrection, and ascension, He made the way for redemption from sin and is the only way to eternal life. He is the sole mediator between God and humanity. With hopeful anticipation and eagerness, believers look forward to His return.
Holy Spirit
We believe in the Holy Spirit as the third person of the Trinity, who is united with both the Father and the Son. It is the Holy Spirit who convicts the world of their sin and need for a Savior. When a person believes in Jesus, the Holy Spirit enters and abides within them, beginning the process of sanctification. The Holy Spirit is a comforter and advocate, guiding each person in truth and righteousness, and offering hope and solace in times of distress. Through the Holy Spirit, each believer receives spiritual gifts and the power to live a faithful life. It is the Holy Spirit who seals the believer until the day of Jesus Christ.
The Bible
We believe the Bible, comprising of 39 books in the Old Testament and 27 books in the New Testament, is the authoritative and infallible written Word of God. We affirm the historical interpretation of the Bible and acknowledge that human authors wrote it under the divine inspiration and guidance of the Holy Spirit. The Bible is the revelation of the will of God, and the Holy Scriptures are the ultimate source of truth for Christian faith and practice, with its doctrines serving as a foundation for the spiritual edification of the believer, the church, and all mankind. We believe that all scripture is inspired by God and is beneficial for teaching, rebuking, training, and correcting.
Holy Living
We believe in the importance of leading a holy life. A person who has truly been reborn through the regenerative power of the Holy Spirit has died to sin and the old, carnal desires. The Holy Spirit dwells within the true believer and begins sanctifying work, separating them from sin and transforming them into the likeness of Jesus Christ. Living a holy life necessitates ongoing repentance and continuous dependence upon Christ. As a Christian confesses their sins, receives forgiveness, trusts in the Holy Spirit, and obeys God’s will, they will increasingly manifest the character of Jesus.
The return of Jesus Christ
The long-awaited and magnificent return of our Lord Jesus Christ is imminent. He shall gather His Church to Himself, those who have been redeemed by His blood, and will judge both the living and the dead, rewarding the righteous and the wicked according to their deeds; His kingdom will be established forever. Until His return, the Church is to exist in the world – but not to conform to its ways, submit to the governing authorities established by God, stay watchful and prayerful, and be the salt and light of the world.
Humanity
God created humans in His image and likeness, endowing them with autonomy and free will, making them the highest form of His creation and stewards of all other creations; they were created with three distinct elements: body, mind, and spirit. However, sin entered humanity through disobedience, corrupting the human body and mind, and bringing it into opposition against God. Sin creates a barrier between humans and God, enslaving them to its power and making them unable to free themselves, thus revealing the need for a Savior. In His wisdom and mercy, God has provided a way for restoration.
Salvation
God has opened a way for mankind to be reconciled to Him through Jesus Christ. Jesus, though He was God, descended to earth – taking on human form – and lived a blameless life. Although He had not sinned, God imputed humanity’s sin upon Him, and He took on the wrath and punishment of God. By His death on the cross, Jesus became the propitiation for man’s sins: fulfilling God’s justice and appeasing His wrath. As such, all those who believe in the name of Jesus have remission of sin and are redeemed from eternal condemnation and death. Salvation is not through human effort and is unattainable by good works; it is only through the grace of God. This transformation of the heart results in a changed life and the evidence of good works.
Holy Communion
We believe that Baptism is an ordinance instituted by the Lord Jesus Christ and involves the full immersion in water of a believer in the name of the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit. Baptism is an emblem, signifying the believer’s union unto the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ. It is a prerequisite for the Lord’s Supper, which is the second ordinance of Christ – wherein believers partake of the symbolic bread and wine to commemorate the death, resurrection, and second coming of Christ.
The Eternity
We believe in the second coming of Jesus Christ, who will return as King and judge all people, both living and dead. On that final day, each person shall face one of two destinies: one of eternal life and bliss with God, or one of death and eternal separation from God. Those who have been redeemed from sin and death by the blood of Jesus shall live in heaven, while those who have rejected God and have refused salvation shall face judgment and eternal condemnation. There will be a new heaven and earth, free of injustice and malice, where the people of God will reign eternally. The holy city of God, the new Jerusalem, will descend from heaven, adorned and beautiful, and God will dwell with His people, wiping away their tears. Death will be no more, and there shall be no more sorrow, crying, or pain.
